Need a stain advisor? Check out the best ways to remove stains

Your perfect day can get messy in a heartbeat. When your shirt finds new unwanted color from staining and spilling, you’ll find yourself wearing a new, much messier shirt - your quick lunch making quick work of your shirt with a dash of ketchup, the world’s map on your jacket as painted by sweat stains, or maybe even a Jackson Pollock-esque mud splash on your dress. It’s hard to escape these frightening risks when you’re out and about.

You may know how to wash things, but cleaning up after stains a science of its own.

Be at ease though, we are here to show you how to get rid of5 frequently recurring types of stains.

1. Oil Stains

Oil stains rank pretty highly among types of stains that are difficult to remove.

A conventional wash of your clothes will not get rid of oil stains. You need enzyme detergents to tackle these hard-headed grease.

Coat the stain in the enzyme detergent and let it sit for 10 minutes, then apply liquid laundry detergent onto the stain and wait for another 5 to 10 minutes. After that, proceed to wash the stained clothes like you normally would and that’s it. The oil stains are gone for good.

2. Wine Stains

The tragedy that begins with the spill of ruby-red merlot on a tight white dress reaches far beyond the realm of soap operas.

Wine stains are often the cause of sudden panic that results in using bare hands to frantically rub down the stain. This is the worst thing you can do to your clothes when they have a red wine stain.

The right way, and the only way, to approach wine stains is to quickly apply dry cloth or tissue paper to the spilled area to absorb the liquid. Once the spill is absorbed, soak the stained clothing in either carbonated water or cold water for a little white, coat the item with liquid laundry detergent and proceed to put it in your Electrolux washing machine as you normally would. Repeat the process as necessary until the stain is completely removed.

Your only concern is to not let the water temperature rise above 30°C in the wash, as the wine will start to solidify into the fabric threads at such a temperature.

3. Candle Wax Stains

Who knew candle wax was such a hassle to remove from your clothing?

Improper removal of candle wax from your clothing can leave some very unpleasant dark blots on the fabric. When that happens, your clothes are as good as gone.

Take these easy steps to remove wax stains from your clothing.

First, put the stained clothing in your freezer to solidify the wax residue. After that, use the blunt side of a knife to lightly scrape off the solidified wax as much as you can. Next, place a piece of wax paper over the stained area and iron with low heat. The paper will absorb the wax from the fabric, leaving you with a wax-free fabric, ready for the wash in your Electrolux washing machine

4. Sweat Stains

Around shirt collars, armpits, or any other area with a lot of perspiration, evidence of dirt can be traced with sweat stains.

The worst thing - no amount of scrubbing or washing will clean the clothes completely.

A little trick to bypass this nuisance is to apply a mixture of refined vinegar and cold water into the barrel of your Electrolux washing machine, then agitate the water to foam with a powder detergent.

The crucial part is to leave the clothes to soak for 30 minutes before washing them to maximize the treatment's effectiveness.

If the sweat stain has already buried itself deep into the fabric, simply apply the mixture of refined vinegar and cold water to the stained area and lightly scrub with a toothbrush before beginning this cleaning procedure.

5. Blood Stains

Last but not least is one of the most difficult  types of stains to remove - blood stains.

The solution, however, is easily found at arm's reach. Salt and lime are all you need.

Stir a handful of salt into cold water and soak the stained clothing in the mixture. The blood residue should come right off.

For the lime approach, cut a lime in half and rub the open side on the stain, then wash the clothing normally in your Electrolux washing machine.

These two different, yet equally convenient, methods, will leave no blood trail behind on any of your clothes.
